         TO WATCH :20 video report

Students in Santiago resumed violent protests over education reforms...throwing stones, burning garbage and clashing with police.
Security forces used their water cannons and tear gas to repulse the first student action of 2013.
A new poll revealed that President Pinera's approval rating has increased to 38%...from 32% in September.
For 2 years...Pinera has suffered from the lowest presidential approval in Chile's  democratic history.
Last April...Pinera had only 26% approval.
But a strong economy, low unemployment and nationalistic border disputes with 2 neighbors have bolstered the billionaire president's image.
