Meow...the 2-5 year-old obese tabby cat...that once tipped scales at up to 40 pounds...has died.
Despite being put on a strict diet...after its 87 year owner was forced to give him to an animal shelter in Santa Fe, New Mexico...and even after losing 2 pounds...Meow began having serious breathing problems.
Meow wasn't even close to being the world's fattest cat.
An Aussie feline named Himmy weighs in at 47 pounds.
But Guinness World Records folks have stopped judging record fat cats...fearing it only encourages overfeeding.
