Texas can still sometimes seem like the Wild West.
Not just because there are many insane drivers...careening all over the roads...texting or cell-phoning.
Yes...it's still legal here to drive and hold a phone...which is insane!
But...because big fat snakes...not rattlers...not yet...regularly slither thru yards.
No scorpion sightings in 34 years...but wily raccoons often raid the garbage...and once built a tidy underground den in the yard.
They left behind huge piles of their potentially dangerous scat.
Then...there are constant rumors of coyotes on the prowl.
And...owls happily hoot away the night.
However...a stand-off in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton beats them all.
2 bobcats...got deep into a hair-raising stare-down contest...preparing to fight over territory...terrifying and captivating homeowners there.
But...before a bloody tussle...one wildcat thought better of it...and instead...slowly slunk away.
That...is truly wild!
