    Frankly...there had been rumors for months...of Russian subs lurking off the USA's eastern coast.
     It became fact...when one of Moscow's nuclear attack subs...was given safe harbor in Jacksonville, Florida...as Hurricane Sandy approached the USA's coast.

    The Sierra-2 class sub...with anti-sub missiles and torpedoes...was said to be prowling around Kings Bay, Georgia...where the US Navy houses 8 subs.

    USA officials refused to comment except to say there was no threat to security.
