URUGUAY / PARAGUAY / ARGENTINA : Storms And Winds Lash Southern Cone; 5 Dead In Paraguay, 5,000 Homes Damaged.

     Weather news...from the Southern Cone.

     Cyclone strength winds over 150 kms...lashed the River Platte region...and forced Montevideo to close all public buildings, the airport, ports and public transport...and warn residents to stay home.
    At least 2 died...with hundreds of trees toppled...and windows blown out.
    Also...new polling for President Pepe Mujica shows him with just 36% approval...his worst showing since assuming office in March 2010.
   In just 6 months...Mujica's approval has plunged from the 47% level.

    In nearby Paraguay...5 died...at least 81 were injured...and 5,000 homes were destroyed... many in a suburb of Asuncion...after twisters tore thru the nation.
