COLOMBIA : 27 April UPDATE: Police Beef-up Presence After American Tourist Killed In Medellin Hostel Robbery.

     Medellin police report that USA tourist Denis Ian Levy, 58...was shot dead...in the El Tamarindo hostel.
     Police are searching for 2 men and a woman...who entered the hostel in the El Poblado district around midnight...and ransacked his room.
     New Yorker Levy struggled with them...and was shot 2x and killed.
     Police are increasing their presence in the wealthy area...and may establish a permanent presence.
     Another recent robbery occurred in the nearby Tiger Paw hostel.
     In 2011...a Brit was murdered in the Belen district during an attempted robbery.
