American actor Sean Penn...notable for his long friendship with socialist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez...is backing Argentina's claim to the disputed Malvinas/Falkland islands...and wants negotiations over it to begin.
The Brits have steadfastly refused to negotiate over the islands.
Penn announced his position during a foto-op with President Cristina Fernandez.
"The world today is not going to tolerate any kind of ludicrous and archaic commitment to colonialist ideology," Penn declared.
Penn said he was representing Haitian refugees and victims of that nation's devastating earthquake.
Meanwhile...the transport workers union in Buenos Aires said it will boycott unloading all British flagged ships.
