Special police units raided the isolated northern village of Gornja Maoca...a reputed stronghold of Wahhabi Islamists and briefly held 17 for questioning...after a US embassy guard in Sarajevo, a local policeman, was wounded by a bearded Serbian islamist gunman carrying an assault rifle.
Police wounded the man and took him to a hospital.
Bosnian media report the gunman...Mevlid Jasarevic, 23, is a member of the Wahhabi fundamentalist sect.
