Venezuelan chocolate has a fine reputation among connoisseurs.
One of the best known brands is...Chocolates El Rey.
But...doing business under President Hugo Chavez's 'Bolivarian' revolution...hasn't been easy for the family-owned company...or getting easier.
Owner Jorge Redmond says export paperwork has grown from 4 steps...to 50...and some of his farm land was confiscated...and never returned.
Still...he employs over 200...and plans on larger exports.
Venezuela only produces about 17,000 tons of its very aromatic chocolate annually... about .005 of the world's total.
