SERBIA / BOSNIA / CROATIA : Severe Drought Afflicts Balkans.

    Experts say the USA's Midwest is suffering its worst drought since the 1950's.
    But the Balkan nations are also suffering from the most severe drought...since the 1990's...and others claim...in over 40 years.
    In Croatia...an expert reports that...'corn is as rare as gold.'
    Potato crops are also devastated.

     Serbia may suffer $2 billion in crops losses...with $1 billion lost in Bosnia...and $250 million in Croatia.
     All this...after the region's harshest winter in decades.
     The Danube is also low...impeding trade and commercial river traffic. 
     And...there are also more wildfires to fight...sometimes in long neglected minefields.
