45 tons of toxic copper concentrate sickened over 200 locals working to clean-up the river...after a high pressure pipe burst open near their village of Santa Rosa de Cajacay.
The liquid copper/zinc slurry was being piped from the giant Antamina mine to the coast.
The workers allegedly weren't provided with protective gloves or masks to sop-up the toxic liquid mess.
Officials are seeking $769,000 in fines for the spill.
