There was a small celebration in Buenos Aires...as President Cristina Kirchner reported making the last installment on the nation's infamous corralito debt...with a $2.2 billion payment.
All payouts for small bond holders were blocked in 2001...with $70 billion in local bank accounts frozen...aka...corralito.
An estimated 22% of final payout recipients were Argentines...but the corralito left deep psychological scars and fears about banks...and investments.
ALSO...President Kirchner's approval has plummeted...from 65% at the time of her re-election...to only 40% now.
