     In central Colombia...the deadly Nevado del Ruiz volcano erupted...spewing lava and gases 6 miles into the air...forcing the evacuation of 2,300 people.
     The area alert was raised from yellow...to red.
     3 nearby airports were closed.
     Nevado del Ruiz grew active again...about a month ago.
     In 1985...Nevado erupted violently...wiping away the town of Armero...and killing 25,000 people.
    Some have criticized President Santos because there was scant mention of the eruption on national media...absorbed covering football matches.
