Dissident Andrei Sannikov and his assistant were suddenly released from prison...and pardoned by President Alexander Lukashenko.
Former presidential candidate Sannikov, 58 told REUTERS that government officials planted inmates in his cell block...who pushed him to commit suicide.
Sannikov was sentenced to a 5-year prison term for taking part in a 2010 protest after Lukashenko's re-election.
Sentenced to 2 years...aide Dmitry Bondarenko was also released.
Human rights activists say 15 dissidents remain jailed.
The EU praised the early releases...but wants all political prisoners released.
