Japan is in trouble.
But it means a coup...for Mexico.
For the first time since 1980...Japan registered a trade deficit...$32 bn...in 2011.
Blame an unreasonably strong yen, a catastrophic earthquake/tsunami...and widespread shutdown of nuke plants...requiring massive fuel imports...for the resource poor island nation.
Nimble Nissan...the number 2 Japanese auto maker...unlike the resistant and stubborn Toyota...will build a new auto plant outside Japan...in Aguascalientes...its 3rd there...and spend about $2bn.
Initially...the new plant will make about 175,000 small cars annually.
