PERU: Shining Path Rebel Leader Admits Defeat...Seeks Truce.

     "Comrade Artemio", a leader of the 'Shining Path' rebels, says the group admits defeat and seeks to end its war with the government.
     "Comrade Artemio," who claims his real name is Jose Flores, says Shining Path has been defeated.
     "Yes, that's a fact. We are not going to deny it," he said.
      Shining Path terrorized Peru with bombings in the 1980s and 1990s.
