Para state is bigger than the USA's California...AND Texas...combined.
It contains Amazon rainforest, cattle ranches and mines.
And...a referendum Sunday will determine if it splits into 3 separate states.
At least 60% of voters are against a split.
But the referendum is indicative of a growing clamor for more power from remote but fast-growing electorates.
