It's called a secuestro express/express kidnapping.
And...just days after a prominent USA baseball player was rescued from being held for 2 tense days...Chile's consul in Caracas...Juan Carlos Fernandez...was a victim of an "express kidnapping"...abducted while leaving a hotel.
Fernandez was reportedly held, threatened, hit and shot at for two hours...before being dumped on a street.
He was treated in a hospital...and released.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is heavily criticized for being unable to stem the increasing crime in his nation.
