In a rare public protest...PM Vladimir Putin was loudly booed by some in a crowd of 20,000...during a televised Moscow martial arts contest.
As Putin stepped into the ring at the end of a match between a Russian and American...the audience whistled, hissed and booed.
Putin appeared at first shocked by the negative reception...but recovered.
His popularity has been declining recently...though still high by Western standards.
