A mother/daughter team in Cali began a small business in 2001 called 'Alas de Colombia'...that sells colorful butterflies for local weddings...and foreign exhibits.
It buys from 25 rural women suppliers...and ships up to 8,000 butterfly chrysalises monthly...mostly the big-winged, blue Morpho peleides...described as "drop-dead gorgeous."
