There are 11 outdated and potentially dangerous Chernobyl-style nuclear reactors still in operation...3 in Smolensk near Belarus...and 4 in Kurst near the Ukraine. Plus several near populous St. Petersburg.
Now Russia's nuclear monopoly has decided to increase the nukes' operating life...by 15 years...to 45 years of use... until at least 2035...even though they lack many modern safety features...especially radioactive containment structures.
Many nuclear scientists around the world are concerned.
