Rio's big Alemao slum, long controlled by narco gangs, was allegedly taken over by security forces in November in a widely publicized pacification program.
But local media report that more police and troops were sent in...after soldiers were fired on by some 50 gunmen...with a 15-year-old girl was killed....and at least 16 wounded.
