BRASIL / USA : Chevron Can Restart Production At 6 Wells In Frade Field.
Brasil's Petroleum Agency/ANP...told USA oil giant Chevron that it can conditionally restart production at 6 offshore wells in the Atlantic's Frade field.
After a March 2012 spill of 2,400-3,700 barrels in the Atlantic off the coast of Rio state... officials shut down most production...costing Chevron 29,000 bpd.
Chevron paid $17 million in fines...and is still involved in 2 civil lawsuits seeking $20 billion.
Chevron has offered $150 million to end the suits.
