      Since the army wiped out the narco thugs of La Familia Michoacana in outgoing President Calderon's home state...a splinter narco band formed...the mystic pseudo-religious Knights Templar.
     Now the Knights and the 3,000 member Mexican army mostly co-exist....since rules don't allow the army to investigate crimes...and only stop criminal activity directly before them.
     For citizens...it means lots of army patrols...and also increased alleged abuse by the military.
