     It was no joke for President Vaclav Klaus, 71...when a man dressed in camouflage shot at him...7 times...with an ominous looking airgun in Chrastava.

     A shaken Klaus told the gunman: 'You really messed up.'
     Klaus was taken to a hospital..but suffered only minor bruises.

     Klaus also rebuked his apparently lax bodyguards.

     Police detained the man, 26...who was also carrying pepper spray.
     He was described as a communist sympathizer.

     AND: The central bank dropped it benchmark interest rate to a record low 0.25...from 0.5.
       It last lowered its rate in June.
