Texas-based Southwest Airlines has long enjoyed a good reputation for iconoclastic behavior and economy...as it grows its service across the USA.
But a half price web promo to celebrate 3 million Facebook followers...went wildly wrong on Friday...wobbling even loyal customers.
Some customers were billed as many as 40 times on their credit cards...for the same tickets...incurring overcharges...and hitting card limits.
The airline blamed a technology glitch...and issued a Facebook apology.
It doesn't yet know how many customers were affected by the nasty glitch.
