President Raul Castro is busy hedging his bets.
To reduce the island's long economic dependence on Venezuela's still ailing Hugo Chavez...Castro has signed several new...but as yet undisclosed...agreements with China... during his 3rd visit there.
China already has a strong presence in Cuba...spending $4.5 billion to upgrade a refinery in Cienfuegos...and flooding the small market with Chinese-made appliances, buses and other goods.
With these agreements...Beijing's influence will only grow.
