1:14 Video report
President Medvedev met with 10 members of the opposition for 2.5 hours...for the first time since December's vote fraud protest rallies.
But at least 2 opposition leaders doubt he can fulfill his promises for direct election of regional governments...and easier registration of parties...because the current PM..and probable next president Putin...has shown little enthusiasm for reform.
Many in the opposition believe Medvedev...is simply...a 'lame duck.'
Despite massive recent opposition rallies in Moscow...new pollings show Putin easily winning a March first round vote...by 50 to 58%.
