A nasty, toxic smelter high in the Andes...closed for over 2 years because of financial problems...may reopen...but without new emissions technology.
Some even compare pollution from the smelter at La Oroya...to Chernobyl.
Except that La Oroya has been spewing heavy metals...and acid rain 100 times the Peruvian limit...for 90 years.
