Police stopped thousands of protesters/"indignandos" trying to retake Madrid's central square...after some camped out there were evicted but without injuries or arrests.
The protesters believe the police want to clear the area before the World Youth Day visit of Pope Benedict XVI on 16-21 August.
"The only reason is that the pope is coming, they want to clean up everything," said Miguel Angel Valencia, 39. "This government has done nothing for the people since the beginning."
