COMMODITIES / COFFEE / COLOMBIA: Bumper Crop May Lower Fall Price.

                                 WSJ / J. Guerrero

Recently, I've been drinking only home brewed iced coffee in the AM...because Austin has broken the record of 69...100F+/38C days...set way back in 1925.
     In 2009, we came in 2nd with a historic...and miserable 68 days.
I keep asking myself...can Cairo, Riyadh or Phoenix be any hotter than this place?
Also...am I nuts? Why am I still living here?
Four of the past five years here have been the hottest...since 1854.
And...how does prez. wannabe Rick Perry explain this dreaded, relentless heat...if not global warming?
Anyway...there is some good coffee news...as the WSJ reports that Colombia and other most LatAm growers predict the largest harvest of arabica beans in three years...probably 2% more.
It should help drive down recent coffee bean prices...that have surged 95% higher in the past three years...and given consumers sticker shock.
