Because new USA sanctions on Minsk businesses were recently imposed over its human rights violations...Belarus will suspend transfers of enriched uranium to Russia.
The initial agreement with President Lukashenko (right) was seen as an important first step to eliminate the threat of enriched uranium...but mass arrests and human rights crackdowns following post-election protests...brought condemnations and sanctions from Europe...and new ones from the USA.
