Former banker, challenger Andris Berzins (left) 66, won a second round of presidential voting...defeating incumbent Valdis Zatlers.
Berzins won support from 53 out of 100 in the parliamentary ballot.
Incumbent Zatlers was expected to win easily...until he accused lawmakers of being soft on corruption...and called for the dissolution of parliament.
