Tear gas and water cannons were used to scatter protesters blocking the main avenue demanding the return of ousted former President Manuel Zelaya from exile and a resolution to strike issues.
The strike by education workers in Tegucigalpa entered its third week.
A woman died during 18 March protests. Demonstrators say 5,000 teachers haven't been paid in 18 months.
They also claim that President Porfirio Lobo Sosa hasn't complied with an agreement over a pension fund.
"They are trying to destabilize my government," said Lobo. "All of this is part of an ideological strategy to provoke difficulties, especially now that there is the possibility of returning to the OAS at the next general assembly in June."
