Mysterious Plume Over California Now Called An Airplane Contrail.

CNN/
The U.S. Pentagon claims Monday's mysterious streak in southern California was an aircraft condensation trail.
To many viewers, the so-called contrail that glowed orange in the sunset-streaked evening sky, looked like a rocket launch but "there was no threat to the U.S. homeland."
Initially, the Pentagon was stumped. It couldn't explain the images of what appeared to be a high-altitude rocket launched off the coast of southern California.
