CUBA: Defector Diplomat Safe In U.S.
MIAMI HERALD/ A Cuban diplomatic clerk who defected last month with her husband in Mexico told family that she is safe in an undisclosed part of the U.S., probably being debriefed by U.S. intelligence agents. Yusimil Casañas, 25, worked for former Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque, in the passport section of the Cuban embassy in Mexico City, one of its largest, used by intelligence agents as an operations base against the United States.
