ARGENTINA: China Blocks Future Sale Of Soy Oil But Allows Some Unloading.
MERCO PRESS/ There are reports that China is allowing all cargo ships on their way to China to unload soybean oil at Chinese ports despite a ban on new shipments. The Chinese say they are implementing new safety standards but it has massive reserves of soybean, palm and rapeseed oil in its crushing industry which is operating at half capacity. A blockade by China on soybean-oil imports could cost Argentina country as $2 billion USD annually.
