Just one week ahead of the presidential election...acting President Nicolas Maduro has cursed those voters who refuse to vote for him.
Maduro invoked a centuries old 'curse of Maracapana' on supporters of Henrique Capriles Radonski...that was once uttered against the Spanish conquistadors.
Capriles Radonski, 40...said the only curse would occur...if Maduro won the election.
Capriles has promised to cut back on highly favorable oil deals for Cuba and other nations, fight widespread crime and bring down inflation.
On the hectic campaign trail...the devoted runner has been attacking Maduro and his associates as corrupt, incompetent and 'skin deep revolutionaries'...interested only in feathering their nests.
Sunday...over 200,000 enthusiastic supporters...turned-out in Caracas...for Capriles' last rally.
Recently...Maduro, 50...was widely mocked for claiming that Chavez appeared to him in the form of a little singing bird.
Polls indicate that Maduro leads by at least 10 points.
