      A small town in northern Sweden suspended its offer of 100 free plots of land...after just 3 days...because of an overwhelming response from Poland.
      Some 1,500 Poles called officials in Nordmaling...after a Polish newspaper story publicized the offer.
     The town even had to hire a Polish translator.
     "For 3 days, I did nothing other than answer the phone, including my mobile. I couldn't handle it," said an official.
      The population 2,600 town...365 miles north of Stockholm...wants to boost decades of a declining population.
