When an energy giant like Exxon strikes out...the entire sector must pause for a rethink.
Exxon/Mobil recently got commercial zilch from 2 test wells in Poland's allegedly vast shale gas reserves.
The USA has claimed that Warsaw had 187 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas locked away in its shale.
But Exxon's failures follow some other recent disappointing shale gas results.
However...experts still claim it may be to early to dismiss all that Polish gas potential.
Meaning that Moscow can't yet relax and count on continued nat gas monopoly.
