CUBA: 10 April UPDATE: Cuba Reacts To Texas Jury Acquital Of Alleged "Terrorist" Posada Carriles.

M.HERALD/ J. CHARDY

After just 3 hours of deliberation...following 13 weeks of testimony...an El Paso Texas jury acquitted former CIA operative Luis Posada Carriles, 83, of all 11 perjury charges...including alleged 1997 Cuba bombings and in 2005...illegally entering the USA.
Venezuela has responded a statement with expressing great indignation over the jury's decision dismissing him for 6 October 1976 "assassination of 73 people aboard Flight CU-455."
It also reiterated a request for his extradition to Caracas.

UPDATE: Cuba Parliament head Ricardo Alarcon told AP the Texas federal judge prevented jurors from seeing evidence that would have convinced them of his guilt.
"The US government is as much a liar as he is because it converted a killer who has been sought for decades into a simple old liar," he said.
Posada is regarded as "enemigo numero uno" for several alleged La Habana bombings...and the death of one Italian tourist. He also allegedly plotted the assassination of  Fidel Castro

Cuba is helping the U.S. with data in the prosecution of
anti-Castro Cuban exile and former CIA operative Luis Posada Carriles, 82.
He is accused by Cuba of blowing up a commercial airliner that killed 73, planning a 1997 La Habana bombing campaign that killed an Italian tourist and attempting to assassinate Fidel Castro.
Now he is being tried in the U.S. and in El Paso-- but only for lying to Miami immigration officials 5 years ago.
"The CIA created and unleashed a Frankenstein," said Cuba watcher Peter Kornbluh."We unleashed him on the world."
In Miami, there's a radically different view.
"He's a hero," said his legal defense fund organizer Blanca Hidalgo. "He's the only living leader who continues the fight. If others had been like him, we wouldn't be in this situation."
