PERU : Ex-Prez Garcia May Be Barred From Seeking Office...For Pardoning Narcos.
Former 2-term President Alan Garcia, 62...may be punished for pardoning over 3,200 narcos before he left office.
A congressional commission found many instances of corruption during his administration...and wants to bar Garcia from running for the presidency...for years.
Of course...Garcia's elimination would open the way for now President Ollanta Humala's wife...and other leading candidates...to succeed him.
In Peru...presidents may only serve one consecutive term.
