GREECE / CANADA : Thousands In Athens And Thessaloniki Protest Canuck Goldmine In Halkidiki.

      In Athens and Thessaloniki...thousands protested against a goldmine project in the northeast Halkidiki region...by a subsidiary of Canada's Eldorado Gold.
     They carried banners and chanted : 'We want forests, land and water, not a grave made out of gold.'

     Residents have protested the project since 2011...and the work site has been firebombed.
     Even a local police station was trashed...after 2 firebomb suspects were arrested.
