Former President Michelle Bachelet will run for the office again in November.
The nation's first woman chief executive was highly popular...serving from 2006-2010...but prohibited by law to serve a second consecutive term.
For the past 3 years Bachelet, 62...has overseen women's issues at the UN.
The left center candidate must survive a primary election in June to advance.
Current President Sebastian Pinera is a highly unpopular conservative billionaire.
