An ex-police chief has been convicted for the grisly 2000 murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze.
A Kyiv court found that Olexiy Pukach strangled the reporter...and cut off his head.
He was sentenced to life in prison.
Pukach is the 4th person sentenced for Gongadze's murder.
Pukach had confessed but claimed the murder was ordered by deceased Interior Minister Yuri Kravchenko.
Gongadze, 31...founded and ran a website highly critical of then President Leonid Kuchma.
Just before he was to testify in 2005...Kravchenko was found dead...from a disputed suicide...because he had 2 gunshot wounds in his head.
