The world's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier...the USS Enterprise...will soon go where no man wants to go...onto the scrap heap...after its final voyage being towed to Washington state.
Commissioned 50 years ago...the carrier is shutting down its 8 nuclear reactors at its Norfolk, Virginia base...after 25 deployments around the world.
It is the USA's Navy 2nd oldest ship.
It was the 8th ship to be named Enterprise since 1775.
