       In a jungle region of Cusco province...Shining Path narco rebels attacked the airfield at Kiteni...destroying 3 helicopters of a private nat gas consortium...and exposing a major pipeline to maintenance failures.

      The airfield is near the nation's important sole nat gas pipeline...and close to where 36 energy workers were briefly kidnapped in April.
