VENEZUELA : Chavez Claims No Political Damage From Refinery And Other Disasters.

     It may be wishful thinking...but President Hugo Chavez believes he will escape unscathed from the recent tragic disaster at his nation's giant Amuay refinery.
     42 died...and over 2,000 nearby homes were destroyed or damaged.
      Recently...an important Caracas highway bridge also collapsed...and 66 police have been killed there so far this year.
     Chavez claims he still leads with a double digit polling lead for the 7 October election.
     Of course...young opponent Henrique Capriles denies the substantial lead.
