      The trial of Rio footballer...Bruno Fernandez de Souza, 27...for the bizarre and brutal murder and dismemberment of his model mistress...is about to begin.

     De Souza is already serving time for assaulting and kidnapping Eliza Samudio, 25...after she claimed her new baby was his.

     De Souza is accused of watching as she was tortured and cut up...and fed to his dogs in 2010...while loud music drowned out her screaming.
    8 others...including his wife...have also been charged in the crime.
