6 security members were killed...and 10 more were injured during the battle in the jungle.
Now...the rebel leader says the mass kidnapping was a ruse...to lure troops into the jungle to kill them.
The government sent 1,500 troops to search for the hostages.
Though the rebels demanded a $10 million ransom, weapons and explosives...the government paid nothing.
